Landscape-scale pilot 1: Riverine restoration & revegetating streams
Pilot progress

Pilot outcomes
Protecting high-value agricultural land
Protecting loss of our valuable topsoils which are needed to continue to produce high quality food and fibre
Reducing flooding impact risks
Sustaining natural resources, ensuring long-term agricultural productivity and resilience against climate change
Targeting erosion hotspots
Targeting multiple hotspot sections along our streambanks to reduce the most problematic tracts of erosion on a large scale
Keeping sediment in the landscape and slowing the water flow in the upper catchments
Preventing soil from being mobilised into waterways, where it causes damage and endangers the ecosystems downstream and all the way out to Moreton Bay
Cleaner drinking water
Restoring vegetation along the riverbanks to contain erosion and sediment flowing downstream which ultimately increases the quality of drinking water which then needs less processing before it gets to the tap
Increased water quality flowing downstream through the region and into our oceans
Preventing soil and pollutants from being mobilised into waterways, where it causes damage and endangers the ecosystems as it travels all the way downstream and out to Moreton Bay
Farm business resilience
Improved agricultural business outcomes and consistency through flood and drought resilient landscapes
Decrease topsoil loss
Decreasing topsoil loss in upper catchments from fast-flowing water
Biodiversity
Increasing overall species richness and diversity, plus protecting native and threatened species
Collaborating to advance nature-positive investment solutions
